First commissioner of Seattle ASA was named in 1939, Royal Broughm, civic promoter, sportswriter for the Seattle Post Intelligencer, a street adjacent to the Mariners SAFECO Field was named after him.


Royal was followed by Lou Evans of Seattle Parks in 1944 until 1966.


Lou was followed by Howard Bogie of Seattle Parks from 1966 to 1977.


Howard was followed by Kent Morrill, King County Parks from 1977 to 1986.


Kent was followed by Toni Franklin, a softball enthusiast from 1986 to 1995.


In 1995, Toni was followed by the current serving commissioner Joe Wilson, a umpire vet of 35 years, past president of the Seattle Metro Softball Umpires Association, retired King County Parks employee, recipient of the ASA 15 year Service Award.


Metro Tacoma Commissioners before Tacoma was incorporated with Metro Seattle in 2004 to form the Seattle Tacoma Association

2010 Region 15 Hall of Fame Inductees from Seattle and Tacoma, Charlie Bendock and Cleon Tungsvik.  A well deserved Congratulations to you both!

A Hall of Fame night to remember for a sold out banquet, standing room only presentation event attended by over 100 people to pay tribute to two local inductees that represent the best of the game.

Featured on the left are the people that helped to make the night memorable.  In the middle, Boots Duffy, ASA Region 15 Hall of Fame Committee Chair  from Portland, far left, Malcolm Boyles who served as Master of Ceremonies, is the past UIC for Seattle Tacoma ASA and is currently the National Deputy UIC for the Western Territory, and on the right Craig Cress, Director of Membership Services and Umpires from the ASA National Office in Oklahoma City.

A night that Charlie and Cleon, family and friends, Seattle Tacoma softball and Region 15, won’t forget.
